This paper aims to analyze how the agency of niche actors promoted the adoption of Direct Seeding System in Argentina as a grassroots innovation, using the Strategic Niche Management (SNM) framework.
Qualitative case study based on semi-structured interviews and document analysis, with theoretical and thematic coding, focused on the adoption of the Direct Seeding System in Argentina between 1968 and 1996.
The consolidation of the Direct Seeding System was driven by the agency of niche actors, practical learning, collaborative networks and shared visions that linked the niche to the regime without losing sociotechnical autonomy.
This study applies the SNM framework in a South American context, showing a sociotechnical transition driven by self-managed networks, without institutional protection, through practical validation and legitimizing visions.
