A new product, PURE Organic, is the first UK-produced branded organic spread to be widely available. It is made with organically grown ingredients and produced using methods approved by the Soil Association. The product was recommended by an independent consumer taste panel carried out by the Good Housekeeping Institute. Panelists commented favourably on its smooth, creamy appearance and texture and its pale yellow colour. PURE Organic spread is entirely free from dairy, corn, maize, rape products, animal and fish products,artificial colouring, flavourings and hydrogenated oils. It contains added vitamins A and D. The product is available from Waitrose, Tesco, Budgens and leading health food stores. It costs £1.49 for a 500g tub and there will be a special introductory offer of 99p in many stores.
