Free educational conferences and exhibitions dedicated to today's primary care staff.
The Nursing in Practice event in Cardiff at the International Arena on the 12 June was attended by approximately 400 participants. It provided an opportunity for nurses and other practice staff to listen to speeches on topics, which included nutrition. The areas focused on nutrition were:
Behavioural changes in obesity management, which covered how nurses can offer an integrated approach to managing patients with obesity.
GI and its value in special diets explained the use of a low GI diet, which can be of benefit to those with diabetes, raised cholesterol levels, gastro intestinal problems and polycystic ovary syndrome.
