A new product from Sweden is Mill Milk oat drink made from oats, rapeseed oil and spring water. Developed in Sweden for people with milk allergies, it is cholesterol, sugar and lactose free and contains only 1.5 per cent fat It is available in two varieties, one of which is enriched with fibre. It can be drunk just like ordinary milk, used on cereals and in tea and coffee. It is also suitable for baking and cooking. Being derived solely from plant ingredients it is also suitable for vegans. Mill Milk is organic and preservative free and strict controls are implemented to ensure the oats used to make the product are of the highest quality. Mill Milk is available from Waitrose, major branches of Tesco, Holland and Barrett and Booths in the north-west of England in one litre cartons, priced around £1.30. Mill Milk can be stored at room temperature for up to one year but once opened should be kept in the fridge for up to four days.
