Community Nutrition Group Conference, held at the Swanick Conference Centre, Swanick, Derbyshire, Tuesday, April 8-Thursday, 10 April 2003

The Community Nutrition Group is the support and interest group for state-registered dietitians who are members of the BDA and who have a particular interest in aspects of community nutrition.

Presentations at the conference included:

• evidence base for the whole school approach to healthy eating;

• food in schools programme;

• national school fruit scheme;

• needs assessment;

• community development;

• working with community nutrition/dietetic assistants;

• evaluation;

• current dietary approaches to obesity management;

• energy deficit diets using behavioural approach;

• weight wise update;

• the counterweight project.
