The launch of Cow and Gate Pepti for infants with Cow's Milk Protein Allergy is now available on prescription. Cow and Gate Pepti has been launched in response to recent advice from the Chief Medical Officer, which stated that soya formulas should not be the first choice for the management of infants with CMPA due to potential risk from their high phytoestrogen levels, and that an extensively hydrolysed formula be used instead.

The product is available on prescription in a 900-g tin and is more cost effective than other hydrolysate products, and is estimated to provide the infant with enough powder to meet their nutritional requirements for approximately one week.
