EC unveils it information industry vision. The European Union. has unveiled the latest stage of its programme to help the European information industry. The Info2000 programme, the successor to IMPACT, includes proposals aimed at improving access to public information and stimulating private investment in the multimedia industry — defined as encapsulating both text and image‐based services. If adopted by the EU, the programme will begin early next year
