Intranet accretion in US money sectors. US financial services organizations are in the vanguard of intranet installation and exploitation, according to a new report issued by Datamonitor. The company predicts that 90% of all desktop clients in the US financial services sector will be intranet connected by the end of 2002. The report, entitled Intranets in US Financial Services: Opportunities, reveals that US Securities firms are embracing intranet technology most rapidly — half of all desktops in Securities will be connected to intranets by the end of 1998. However, the insurance sector will see the fastest growth in intranet connection rates.
