Sikkens UK, of Didcot, Oxon OX11 7NQ, have introduced a new translucent finish for wood, Cetol Filter 7, which is claimed to be the world's longest lasting wood stain. Properly applied, it will protect wood for 4–5 years (around one‐third longer than other translucent wood finishes) before a simple one‐coat redecoration keeps it good for up to another five years.
