Paint chemists must be burning the midnight oil in endeavours to produce anti‐fouling yacht paints with properties that match those based on tributyl tin. For following the Government's announcement in February this year that it proposed to ban the retail supply of tributyl tin based anti foulings for small boats, it would appear that this will come into effect on 1st July 1987, but not for deep sea going vessels.
