PPG Industries acquires coatings unit

PPG Industries has agreed to acquire BASF Lacke + Farben AG's worldwide packaging coatings businesses. As part of the transaction, BASF will acquire PPG's surfactants business.

The acquisition of BASF's packaging coatings business includes plants at Baranzate, Italy and Tiel, The Netherlands, and a marketing-technical center at Milford, Ohio, USA.
