Arizona limestone agreement

Specialty Minerals Inc.(SMI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Minerals Technologies Inc. (NYSE: MTX), has signed an agreement with The Georgia Marble Company of Kennesaw, Georgia, for a long-term lease of SMI's limestone operation in Pima, Arizona.

The SMI operation at Pima,which is in Arizona's Helvita Mining District, produces limestone primarily for use in industrial applications such as construction and paint. Georgia Marble,which already owns a limestone operation in the Helvita Mining District at Vail,Arizona, conducts business in both the industrial and consumer sectors.
