Inlac (UK) wins order from Airflow

Inlac (UK) of Warwick informs us that it has won an order approaching £1 million from Airflow Streamlines to supply an automated cab painting system for their Northampton facility. Airflow manufactures and final-finishes complete assembly cabs for earth-moving machinery, for customers such as JCB and Caterpillar.

With a desire to improve the product quality and through-put of the spray booths, while complying fully with the latest environmental legislation, Airflow has invested in two DÏrr Ecopaint robots. The automatic paint spraying process,together with a precision paint flow metering system, will ensure a consistent and accurately applied paint film build, resulting in quality production and cost-effective paint utilisation.

Initial ROBCAD studies were successfully conducted to prove the process capability prior to concluding the final process layout designs. Inlac's modular build capability at the DÏrr Group's facility in Germany allowed a simulation to be run of the spraying process to reduce possible application problems prior to the installation on site.

The installation began in late September.
