The Process Industries Centre for Manufacturing Excellence (PICME), has appointed Michael J. Glass as its first senior manufacturing improvement advisor.

Michael graduated in mechanical engineering from Brunel University under ICI sponsorship and has spent the bulk of his career with ICI, most recently with ICI Chemicals and Polymers. His latest assignment has involved initiating and implementing very dramatic productivity improvements at the Associated Octel Company, Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.

"I am really looking forward to using the benefit of my training and knowledge to benefit PICME's process sector clients," says Andrew. "Companies in the UK's process sector have some tremendous opportunities to raise themselves to world class levels."

Mark Lewis, PICME chief executive says that "we are delighted to have Michael on board. He is a highly qualified, very experienced engineer with a successful track record in the chemical and polymer-related parts of the process sector".
