Displayed at Rubberex at Brighton recently was the Duplex Disintegrator, a single process dissolver employing two work heads mounted above each other in a standard Silverson mixing frame. The upper head is designed to tear blocks of tough plastics which would otherwise require guillotines or similar powerful plant. The lower head is a standard model which reduces the torn pieces to a solution or fine suspension using hydraulic and mechanical shear.
