Frank D. Timmins C.Chem, F.R.S.C. has joined Fosroc's Surface Coatings Division as a consultant. Formerly with British Rail's Research Division in Derby, Frank was head of the Surface Coatings Laboratory for 20 years, specialising in the practical user aspect of steel protection. Well known throughout the industry, Frank is particularly noted for the development of ‘T’ wash mordant, the concept of Prohesion testing, and his investigations into adhesion to zinc coated steel. He has also been personally responsible for the formulation of several successful coatings. Frank was a member of the original national committee for BS 5493 and is a regular lecturer on corrosion and metal protection at national and international symposiums.
