Release agents that permit rapid demolding are being used in automated production of large, complex, glass reinforced thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers (R‐TPU). After power wash installations remove the wax‐like release agent from the surface of the structural component, it is then dried at temperatures between 70 and 100°C. Remaining release agents are diffused in the process and thus prevent environmentally‐compatible water‐borne coatings from adhering.
