Joseph Mason & Co. Ltd., the Derby paint manufacturers, announce the appointment to the board of directors of Mr T. A. Cordwell, chief chemist of the company. Educated at the Herbert Strutt Grammar School in Belper, he obtained his Licentiate of the Royal Institute of Chemistry at the Derby & District College of Technology and also holds an Associateship in the Technology of Surface Coatings. Joining Joseph Mason in 1951 as a laboratory assistant, Mr Cordwell was appointed chief chemist in 1970. He is a founder member of the Trent Valley Branch of the Oil & Colour Chemists Association.
