What is claimed to be a revolutionary new automatic electrostatic powder coating system capable of deposition efficiencies as high 98%, which compares very favourably with typical powder coating efficiencies of around 50%, is announced by industrial finishing specialist Volstatic Coatings, London. It is believed to be the first system to achieve these exceptionally high efficiencies. Productivity is improved, since the speed of the conveyor carrying the work‐pieces can be increased substantially, and the hitherto laborious task of cleaning the booth prior to changing colour for the next production run is greatly facilitated. Moreover, recycling of powder is virtually eliminated, it is claimed.
