Weighing station software audits and controls preparation
According to Sartorius, with the ability to store up to 150 product recipes, ProMix its new PC-based software package improves consistency and efficiency for computer-aided formulation of product batches.
The software can help operators to accurately dispense weighed quantities of up to 150 types of raw material. At the same time, it can simplify stock control by keeping up to date records of amounts used. A traceable recording of each batch is stored automatically to ensure strict quality control procedures and to speed up troubleshooting.
Available in two options,ProMix Light runs on a standalone PC with up to three attached balances. The user simply selects the recipe and enters the required batch size. The program then directs the weighing routine, allowing for single, partial, subtractive and additive weighing, vertical and tare weighing of raw materials.
A barcode scanner and label printer can be attached for batch identification, and batch reports can be printed out. Password protection is provided to prevent unauthorised or accidental recipe changes.
In addition to these features, the ProMix Net version has a multi-user batch preparation feature which reportedly allows up to eight PC weighing stations to be linked together via a Novell network. The recipes can be split between stations and a work order planning function is provided to allocate tasks between users. Production data can be input and output to a host machine as required.
