Baxenden commissions new PUDs plant

Baxenden Chemicals Ltd of Droitwich, UK has recently announced the commissioning of a new plant for the manufacture of Witcobond water-based polyurethane dispersions (PUDs). The investment will enable Baxenden to consolidate its position as one of Europe's major suppliers of PUDs, leading the market in water-based urethanes into the next millennium.

The £3 million expansion will increase capacity by 6,000 tonnes per annum, and will include a new manufacturing facility, bulk storage, warehousing, filtration and tanker loading facilities. Baxenden has taken advantage of the latest technology to provide improved state-of-the-art process control and product quality.
