PPG acquires Connecticut coatings manufacturer
PPG Industries has acquired Keeler and Long Inc. of Watertown, Connecticut, USA, a producer of high-performance and coil coatings.
Including this transaction, PPG has, since August last year, announced acquisitions involving several coatings businesses with combined annual sales exceeding $400 million. PPG's 1996 coatings segment sales were $2.9 billion.
These include Max Meyer Duco SpA, a major Milan, Italy-based maker of automotive refinishes and fleet finishes, from Milan's Santavaleria SpA and BASF Aktiengesellschaft's container coatings business, and BASF has bought PPG's surfactants and paper chemicals business.
