Customers of powder coating manufacturer Thermaset, are said to be promised better delivery, times and high quality following a significant investment programme which more than doubles its production capacity.

Around a quarter of a million pounds has been spent in refurbishing the plant, at its 20,000 sq. ft,Claire Works factory, in Tamworth, West Midlands including the first UK installation of an APV MP50PC twin screw powder coating extrusion line (Plate 6).

In addition to the new extruder, Thermaset has also invested in new conveyor, feed unit and chiller equipment.

Sales director of Thermaset, John McElhannan, said:

"We are an ambitious company. To continue to develop our business we needed a high output extruder to boost production from our existing range of twin screw machines."

"The new APV MP50PC adds over 400kg/hour capacity which means that our service to customers can be enhanced yet further, whether they require a few kilograms for a special order or several tonnes for a long term contract. This extra capacity also gives us the opportunity to expand into new business opportunities."

Quality is a high priority at Thermaset which is ISO 9002 accredited. Through a continuous testing and inspection programme, Thermaset has achieved a "customer returns" target of less than 0.5 per cent per annum:

Maintaining quality was a critical consideration when we looked at the investment programme.

It was vital that we were able to continue our strong track record for competitiveness and high quality. The new APV MP50PC extruder is the most advanced around and has set us on the track to an exciting future, explained John McElhannan.
