Following years of joint research and development DuPont, a polyamide fibre producer, and DyStar, a textile dyestuff company, present an innovative textile polyamide microfibre/dyestuff system that greatly improves the quality of the end-products.
The system comprises Tactel "Coloursafe", a new polyamide micro fibre from DuPont, and Stanalan dyes,a new reactive dyestuff range from DyStar.
It is reported that the combination of Tactel "Coloursafe" micro fibres and Stanalan dyes produces considerably better wetfastness properties. Deep shades can be dyed with minimized aftertreatment. The system greatly enhances washfastness and colour life, thus improving the overall quality of the end product.
The successful cooperation between DuPont and DyStar is a good example of how joint utilisation of R&D resources can improve the quality of textiles.
