The manufacture of wirework clothes airers is feeling the wind of change at the long established Herby plant at La Loupe, near Chartres, France.
Herby, now part of Caliste Marquis and a leader in general wirework for a host of household equipment applications, is installing one of the most sophisticated flexible and integrated systems for the thermoplastic coating of wirework to be supplied by total solutions company Plascoat.
The Autocoat turnkey system, developed by Plascoat in conjunction with Gravatom Engineering Systems,is designed to handle a through-put of 700 units per hour with simple, touch screen control.
The introduction of the Autocoat line will allow Herby to coat in a variety of materials including the latest generation Low Density Polyethylenes (LDPEs), greatly improving product quality. The modular nature of the Plascoat Autocoat system also means that system elements, such as ovens, can be added or withdrawn in line with production and volume requirements.
