A new range of self-priming, external gear pumps which is said to be ideally suited for transfer of fluids such as lubricating oils, fuels, hydraulic oils or printing inks, has recently been introduced to the UK by Pump Engineering.

The GVR range of competitively priced pumps is available close-coupled to 4 pole or 6 pole motors(Plate 4). The simple cast iron construction with hardened steel gears, wear resistant bearings and carbon, stainless steel and Viton mechanical seal claims an efficient, economical, trouble-free life.

The standard pumps are reported to be suitable for temperatures up to 140°C and pressures up to 10 bar. All pumps in the range are available with an internal relief valve which protects the pump against over pressure.

Close coupled pumps are available for flowrates up to 60 litres/minute or foot mounted for flowrates up to 600 litres/minute. For higher temperatures, pressures or more aggressive liquids, GVR pumps are available in AISI 316 stainless steel or bronze.
