PPG completes acquisition of Porter Paints from Akzo Nobel

PPG Industries recently completed its previously announced purchase of the former Courtaulds plc's architectural coatings business in the USA from Akzo Nobel of The Netherlands,which acquired Courtaulds in July.

Terms of the Porter Paints transaction were not disclosed. The unit, which employs about 800 people, has production facilities at Louisville, Kentucky, and 125 retail stores; several hundred independent distributors also sell Porter products.

As also announced in June,PPG will acquire from Akzo Nobel Courtaulds' global packaging coatings business.
