Spies Hecker training centre welcomes first delegates

Keywords Spies Hecker, Training

Spies Hecker's new £1m Training Centre has opened its doors to the very first group of eager delegates. This state-of-the-art facility at the company's UK headquarters at Chadwell Heath in Essex is one of 60 such centres placed strategically around the world and offers a full selection of training courses for refinishing personnel.

The inaugural course featured Spies Hecker's three-day Color College, specially suited to paint technicians, bodyshop staff responsible for mixing topcoat colour and distributor staff. The aim of this particular course is to introduce delegates to the importance of colour matching and the techniques used to achieve the best possible result. This is achieved through a balance of colour theory and practical colour tinting exercises.

The Color College's content includes: Health and Safety and EPA requirements; testing for colour blindness; colour theory and the Ostwald Colour Circle; application techniques and how they affect colour; use of colour identification systems; practical tinting using high solid and waterborne products; mixing equipment and procedures, including PC based systems; and written colour exercises.

The delegates spent three highly constructive and enjoyable days in the most advanced training environment and left the course equipped with the best colour matching techniques to ensure every repair is right first time, every time.
