Rheology workshop and seminar
Keywords: Bohlin Instruments, Rheology, Polymers, Seminars
Bohlin Instruments are suppliers of rheometers and viscometers to the polymer industry with applications in quality control, product development and fundamental research.
As part of the company's commitment to keep the industry informed of the latest innovations in rheological measurement techniques it organizes the“Polymer Rheology Workshop” on a regular basis.
The workshops are primarily of interest to scientists, technicians and engineers, who are working in quality control, research or technical services. The workshop is organised as a one-day course at Bohlin's international headquarters in Cirencester and includes lectures and practical demonstrations.
The recent lectures focused on topics such as “Introduction to polymer rheology”, “Developing rheological methods to simulate polymer processing and application” and “Data analysis techniques”.
The practical sessions were conducted on a range of rheological instruments, including simple rotational viscometers and research grade rheometers. The main thrust of these sessions was to demonstrate how rheological data can be used as a predictive and QC measurement tool in formulation, processing and manufacturing.
In Bohlin opinion the workshop not only increases the participant's rheological awareness but also provides a significant insight into how rheology can be used to enhance product performance both in manufacture and in end use.
