Bohlin Instruments recently held its Coatings Rheology workshop 2000. The workshop was primarily of interest to scientists, technicians, and engineers, who are working in quality control, research or technical services. The workshop was organized as a one-day course at Bohlin's international headquarters in Cirencester and included lectures and practical demonstrations.
The lectures included topics such as; Introduction to coatings rheology,Designing rheological experiments to simulate “real” coating applications, Interpretation of rheology data and their relevance to product performance and Contact angle and surface tension – a presentation by Camtel Ltd.
The practical sessions were designed to complement the lectures and were conducted on the Bohlin range of rheometers. The main thrust of these sessions will be to demonstrate how rheological data can be used as a predictive and QC measurement tool in formulation, processing and manufacturing.
