Thermo LabSystems has announced that its award-winning Atlas Chromatography Data System (CDS) is now available for cost-effective deployment in both workstation and client/server environments (from 1 to 1,000 channels), claiming to provide productivity and cost-saving benefits to laboratories of all sizes(Plate 4). This is said to be possible due to the launch of Thermo LabSystems'new high specification A2D (analog to digital) acquisition device for chromatography data.
Plate 4 Thermo LabSystems introduces chromatography data system package, for single workstations, an introductory offer
The A2D is based upon USB technology, which it uses to connect to the host PC and to provide true plug and play durability and fault tolerance, protecting against loss of data should a unit fail. The new system claims excellent performance, through 24 bit bi-polar analog to digital data acquisition at rates of up to 1MHz, and unrivalled resolution for integrating small trace peaks in the presence of larger components.
A further feature claimed of Atlas is the powerful Report Writer that allows the generation of report templates, using the point and click of a mouse, from within the Atlas application. This is said to mean that obtaining the right report is both simple and reproducible and also eliminates the need to export data into third party packages, thereby easing validation and enhancing productivity.
Thermo LabSystems also informs us that it is offering a special introductory package for chromatographers wishing to benefit from these latest innovations in Atlas' development. The offer is for a complete low channel system comprising A2D hardware, PC with USB hub, two channel license, full documentation and media, plus a day's training and installation. This offer is available for a limited period.
Ian Jennings, CDS business manager at Thermo LabSystems, said:
With over 25,000 channels connected to Atlas in 23 countries world-wide, Atlas is arguably the most established and functionally-rich CDS on the market. The availability of the A2D device brings Atlas' comprehensive functional coverage within the means of smaller laboratories conducting chromatography.
Atlas is a 32 bit Chromatography Data System focused on delivering laboratory productivity by adapting to laboratory workflow and claiming improved ease of use. Its development has benefited from a Joint Application Development program involving leading chromatographers from around the world, to ensure Atlas works the way users demand. Atlas facilitates full compliance with the 21 CFR Part 11 Rule on electronic signatures and records.
