Randy Byrne has been appointed vice president marketing at particle characterization company Malvern Instruments and Paul Vanden Branden has joined the organisation as product manager for the Sysmex range, which includes the FPIA-2100 particle shape and size analyzer.

Randy brings with him almost 20 years' experience in the scientific instruments industry. He will spearhead Malvern's marketing communications campaigns and will drive e-commerce and internet strategies. In his view: "These represent very important parts of the company's business now and into the future and are areas where we see enormous opportunities to provide real benefits and enhanced support for our customers."

Paul is responsible for all the Sysmex products in the Malvern Instruments range. Paul not only has impressive scientific credentials, technical support and sales experience, but is also a talented linguist fluent in a number of European languages. He has a BSc and postgraduate qualifications in physics and applied physics, an engineering degree in business and instrumentation and sales and marketing experience in the analytical instrumentation business.
