The new "Optima" series of laboratory controllers and baths from Grant Instruments is said to set a new standard in ease-of-use, design and performance, with its novel "Navigator" rotor and interactive display(Plate 4).

The microprocessor controlled digital models in the "Optima" series offer the novel "Navigator" and four-character LED digital display,which reportedly makes set-up and calibration very straightforward. According to Grant the navigational system consists of an exceptionally simple user interface based on a novel, sensitive rotor and two keys for selecting and confirming choices at each stage. The soft-touch "Navigator" rotor allows for fast,accurate set-up and intuitive movement from one menu selection to another.

Grant's high performance "GR150" and "GP200" units additionally offer a dual line LCD display with a user choice of languages in English, French, German and Spanish. A host of advanced features is available,from a convenient and safe heater control timer for early morning start-up and evening shutdown to adjustable pump speed control.

The "Optima" series comprises five controllers, plastic/stainless steel tanks and a comprehensive range of accessories. The products bear the CE mark and are stated to be supported by Grant's comprehensive three-year warranty.
