Securistep is a new generation of colourless non-slip and non-skid resins. Reported to be easy to use, they are also said to keep the appearance of the underlying support. Combined with their durability these properties are believed to make Securistep the solution for floors made slippery by liquids such as water, oil and grease. Securistep covers a full range of structured resins, from non-slip, classified R9, to non-skid, classified 0.30 and intended for certain areas of food industry sites.

According to AGIS, Securistep is applied directly to tiled, resin or concrete floors with no surface preparation and without causing damage or deterioration. Made from a colourless, solvent-free polyurethane resin containing special transparent non-slip and non-skid fillers, it is said to be particularly recommended for the prevention of risks of slipping and falling in industry and public facilities.

It has been specially formulated to be applied to most floor surfaces in premises at risk, such as public facility and restaurant kitchens, abattoirs, swimming pools, garages, vehicle maintenance pits and so on. Securistep can be used indoors and outdoors on tiles, concrete, self-levelling resins, steel and stainless steel.

Securistep reportedly enables porous floor surfaces to be waterproofed, to improve hygiene. It is said to protect joints in tiling that are prone to deterioration and to allowing bacterial growth. It has been tested by laboratories and is stated to be recognised in France and Europe: INRS - CSTB -SFC - IANESCO - SNPE. Securistep also claim excellent resistance to diluted acids and bases. A pre-dosing system matching the non-slip or non-skid quality sought enables users to be certain of obtaining the desired effectiveness.

AGIS informs us that 100 per cent solid and odourless, Securistep has no effect on the environment when applied, including in the food industry, and claims excellent resistance to mechanical stresses. Moreover, being based on high quality resins, it reportedly does not yellow, whether used outdoors or indoors. Officially approved, Securistep is described as at one and the same time a non-skid, resistant, colourless and waterproof product. Very easy to maintain, it will solve floor problems for many years.

Technical features are: type: solvent-free polyurethane resin, AFNOR classification: Family 1, Class 6a, finish: non-slip to non- skid gloss, solids:100 per cent, pot life: 35 minutes at 20°C,

presentation: pre-dosed 2 component kit (a base with non-skid filler and c hardener), Securistep is stated to be covered by numerous classifications and approvals that make it particularly suitable for floors in the food industry. These include: CSTB classification under DIN Standard 51 130,

INRS certificate under NF Standard S 73 010, Chemical Resistance certificate from Centre FranCais des Ceramiques (resistance to acids, bases and marks),IANESCO certificate (chemical inertia for food contact), SNPE approval (fire classification), Securistep is a system of 3 bases, with reference numbers 5109,5110 and N30, that enables a non-slip to highly non-skid finish to be obtained, depending on the premises.

Building on a century's experience, AGIS wishes to distribute its know-how internationally and is seeking distributors in Asia, America, Europe and the Middle East.
