Note from the publisher
Editorial team changes
As of the next issue of this volume, we say a fond farewell to Mr. Terry Savage, who has stepped down as Editor of the journal. Terry has been actively involved in the editorial team of Pigment & Resin Technology for over 20 years, and has been of great help in PRT’s transition from a trade magazine to the scholarly journal it is today. Our thanks go to Terry for all of his hard work on the journal, and we wish him good luck for the future. Terry will continue to edit another Emerald journal – Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology (www.emeraldinsight.com/aeat.htm) and we look forward to working with him on this.
We have recently recruited Dr. Long Lin, Senior Lecturer in Colour Chemistry at the University of Leeds, to take over from Terry as Editor of the journal. Dr. Lin has both academic and practitioner research interests, acting as a consultant for businesses in the UK and China; he is also a chartered chemist, a member of a number of Oil and Colour Chemists Association Committees, and a fellow of both the Institute of Printing and Technology of Surface Coatings. Dr. Lin’s areas of expertise lie within high-tech printing ink formulation(design and optimisation), computer-aided modelling and simulation and computer-aided experimental design and optimisation of parameters. His current research interests include:
design, characterisation and optimisation of surface coating systems including printing inks and paints;
design, characterisation and optimisation of novel “Intelligent”polymeric membrane systems;
computer-aided modelling and simulation of polymerisation processes including curing of surface coatings;
novel, computer-assisted approaches to statistical analyses of experimental data;
novel, computer-assisted approaches to experimental design.
We look forward to working with Dr. Lin in continuing to improve both the quality and content of PRT in years to come.
Content in 2003 and beyond
We are constantly striving to make Pigment & Resin Technology the independent journal on the materials and techniques relevant to the formulation and manufacture of dyes, pigments, coatings, inks, adhesives, sealants and varnishes. In 2003 we will continue to offer both article and non-article content to the reader, providing a comprehensive overview and global perspective of the industry.
We welcome submissions from both academics and practitioners – for more information please see the journal Web site ( www.emeraldinsight.com/prt.htm)or contact the editorial team:
