Keywords Spain, Portugal, Paint industry
Information Research (IRL) has announced the publication of another new title in its range of national paint industry profiles: A Profile of the Spanish and Portuguese Paint Industries. This single-volume edition provides an insight into the two paint industries and markets of the Iberian Peninsula.
The Spanish paint industry is both large and fragmented. It has about 500 companies, with 150 operating on a significant scale. Almost two-thirds of the Spanish paint manufacturers are to be found in Cataluña, Valencia and Madrid. The Spanish paint market is also fragmented and led by PPG, Akzo Nobel and BASF. Industrias Titán is the only indigenous manufacturer with a market share in excess of 5 percent, as in Table I.

The Portuguese paint industry has about 150 manufacturers, with three-quarter of these located in Porto and Lisbon. Only about 40 companies produce paint on a large-scale.
