Chemical experts at Huntsman Performance Products are highlighting innovation within the company's Empimin^® PCA specialty surfactant family of emulsion polymerization products.

Huntsman's surfactants for emulsion polymerization are used to improve the production and performance of a wide range of polymers. Empimin^®PCA products are especially recommended for use in decorative and protective paint and coating systems that require the delivery of consistently high quality polymer dispersions. These include acrylate homo- and copolymer; vinyl acetate copolymer; and styrene-acrylate copolymer dispersions.

Although Empimin^® PCA emulsifiers only represent a small portion of the total formulation of polymer dispersions, they can have major beneficial impact on a polymer's latex properties improving stability, particle size, pigment acceptance, water sensitivity and molecular weight.
