Huntsman launches new Jefflink®products to improve spray coating applications

Two new products that function as molecular chain extenders and can be used to fine-tune the reactivity of industrial spray coating systems for heavy duty construction applications are now available in Huntsman Performance Products'established range of Jefflink® chemicals.
Jefflink® 754 and Jefflink® 555 products have been designed specifically to give slightly slower reaction times in coating systems for flooring and construction projects. They work by extending the molecular chains in formulations to ultimately provide extra seconds during the final product's application process – a step vital for achieving optimum physical and chemical resistance and for controlling the final appearance of large scale surfaces.
Chain extenders are essential components in the manufacture of aliphatic and aromatic polyurea and polyurethane-based coatings. They can also be used to increase a wealth of performance properties including tensile strength, hardness and UV resistance. For example, Jefflink® products are light-stable and will not discolor or yellow over time making them perfect for aliphatic applications where the final product needs to be resistant to ultraviolet light exposure.
Jefflink® 754 diamine is a new cycloaliphatic. Jefflink®555 product is a custom amine blend designed primarily for the formulation of rapid cure caulking compounds. Both products are ready for sampling and will become commercially available during May 2005.
