Chemtura to work jointly with Hakuto on polymerization inhibitors for styrene monomer refining

Middlebury, CT – Chemtura Corporation (NYSE:CEM) has announced an agreement with Hakuto Co., Ltd (Shinjuku, Tokyo Japan) to work jointly in the areas of polymerization inhibitors for Styrene Monomer refining processes. These inhibitors, Hakutol PC Series developed by Hakuto, have demonstrated superior performance with dinitro-type polymerization inhibitors such as DNBP.

Chemtura, a leading special chemical producer having a global presence as well as significant expertise in DNBP, and Hakuto will jointly develop the market. Hakuto agreed to license the patented technologies to Chemtura on a global basis, except in Japan, where both companies will cooperate to provide advanced inhibitor technologies.
