Conferences API issues call for entries for polyurethanes “Innovation Award” nominations for the 2007 Technical Conference

The Alliance for the Polyurethanes Industry (API) has issued a call for entries for the 2007 Polyurethane “Innovation Award” nominations and also has changed this year's award program's three categories –polyurethane chemicals, processing equipment and finished product. Finalists will be selected and winners will be announced at the API Polyurethanes 2007 Technical Conference, “Step into the Future,” in partnership with UTECH North America, held in Orlando, Florida, 24-26 September at The Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center.

“API recognizes the importance of the efforts and foresight of the companies and individuals whose visions and perseverance have brought new products to the marketplace,” says Neeva-Gayle Candelori of API. “This year's award program will shine the spotlight on products and technologies in three new innovative categories. Without the efforts of those aiding in the advancement of polyurethanes, the industry would not be able to take that next step into the future.”

Companies or individuals interested in entering the award program must submit an application no later than 5.00 p.m. EDT on 2 July 2007. A panel of five judges representing a cross section of polyurethanes experience and knowledge, and representing industry and industry associations, will evaluate all submissions and choose finalists for each category.

Finalist entries will be on display at the Polyurethanes 2007 Technical Conference, and attendees will have a chance to cast one vote per category for the entry that they believe demonstrates the most innovative use of polyurethanes. The results will be announced on Wednesday, 26 September 2007,during the closing session of the conference. The Polyurethanes 2007 Technical Conference, in partnership with UTECH North America will feature technical sessions, panel discussions, poster presentations and exhibits.

API anticipates that the Conference will attract more than 1,500 people from 40 countries.
