Siegwerk starts volume production for waterless web offset

Siegwerk is stepping up its activities in waterless web offset with a separate in-house production line for the ARIDAS ink series.
“With the new production line, as well as with extra resources for research and development, we are responding to the market’s demand for high quality solutions in this rapidly developing segment,” explained Ulrich Michaelis, Sales Manager web offset North and Central Europe. With the move,Siegwerk shows its clear commitment to waterless web offset. As in Siegwerk’s other businesses, the company will be supporting customers with its professional application technology in this segment.
Waterless web offset is a new trend, particularly in newspaper printing. This innovative method enables outstandingly cost-effective, top quality production on Cortina presses from Koenig & Bauer. The new Siegwerk facility will start operations in the fall of 2008.
“Demand for waterless web offset is growing rapidly. The ARIDAS production line is the next step in our dynamic ongoing growth in web offset,”said Mr Michaelis.
