Cytec's powder coatings business launches CRYLCOAT Primavera

Cytec Industries Inc. has launched another innovative product family –CRYLCOAT Primavera polyester resin. It is Cytec's reply to the continued market demand for reduced formulation cost in powder coatings without compromising on reliability of product supply and quality. The first member of the new CRYLCOAT Primavera polyester resin family, CRYLCOAT E04048, is a 60:40 hybrid resin designed for general metal indoor applications. Powder paints based on this resin will cure at 190°C for 10 min and give overall performances in line with standard hybrid formulations. In particular, it will exhibit good properties in terms of appearance and good resistance to solvents and boiling water. “In the last years we have seen an increasing need for cost-competitive solutions in the Powder Coatings Industry. That has been the case in particular for general metal applications where paint manufacturers are faced with a difficult choice in terms of compromise between raw material price and reliability of supply,” says Benoit de Becker, Global Marketing Director for Powder Coating Resins. “Our answer to this need is CRYLCOAT Primavera. A completely new product family that offers lower formulation cost,steady performance and reliability of supply. CRYLCOAT E04048 is only the start for this new technology.
