The final conference of the Digitex Project, funded under the EU Sixth Framework Programme, is being organized by the Digitexproject consortium in collaboration with Confindustria Bergamo The Digitex consortium, coordinated by TenCate, in collaboration with Confindustria Bergamo (IT) announces that the final conference for the joint research project Digitex – Digital Programmed Jetting of Fluids for Multifunctional Protective Textiles –will take place in Bergamo (Italy) on Thursday 2 and Friday 3 December 2010. This final conference aims at presenting to a wide audience the scientific and technological results achieved by the consortium during the project and at demonstrating “live” the new technologies developed on the field. Digitex is a joint research and innovation project of the European Textile and Clothing Industries which was funded under the EU Sixth Framework Programme. The Digitex consortium is composed of 28 partner organizations representing large industries, SMEs and research institutes from The Netherlands, Italy, Belgium,Lithuania, Poland, The UK and Spain. The project aimed at developing a breakthrough technology based on digitally micro-disposing fluids on textiles enabling high-speed protective functionalization, continuous processing and customized production. During the three and half years of activities, several results were achieved contributing to the development of new ink-jet technologies for functionalization of textiles. Those results will be disseminated during the Digitex final conference. The first day program will take place in Centro Congressi Giovanni XXIII in Bergamo and will feature a public conference presenting the results of the project and shall be reviewed by external experts and industrialists. The second day program features a live demonstration session of the new technologies on industrial scale and will be hosted at the premises of Reggiani Macchine SpA in Grassobbio (6 km South of Bergamo).
