Angela D. Benson is an assistant professor in the Department of Human Resource Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research agenda addresses the use of learning technologies for underserved populations.

Nada Dabbagh is assistant professor of Instructional Technology at George Mason University. She received her doctorate in Instructional Systems from the Pennsylvania State University in 1996. Her main research interests are: task structuring in online learning environments, problem generation and representation in hypermedia learning environments, and supporting student self-regulation in distributed learning. Nada has published several articles in each of these research areas and is currently writing a book on Online Learning and Course Management Systems.

Ian Douglas is an assistant professor of computer science at Florida State University. His research interests are in object-oriented analysis and design, educational technology, and human factors in systems engineering.

Steve Duncan completed his master’s and Ph.D. at the University of Arizona. He serves as the Director of Military Programs for East Carolina University and is tenured in the College of Education. Duncan spent 32 years in government education and training before joining the ECU faculty.

Nick Eastmond is a professor in the Department of Instructional Technology at Utah State University. He served as Editor of the International Review section of Educational Technology Research and Development (ETR&D) for ten years (1989-93, 1997-2003) and a reviewer for articles in French for 5 years before that. His interests include needs assessment, evaluation, qualitative research methods, and international and cross-cultural aspects of instructional technology.

Michael J. Hannafin is Professor of Instructional Technology, Charles H. Wheatley-Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholar in Technology-Enhanced Learning, and Director of the Learning & Performance Support Laboratory at the University of Georgia. His research interests focus on developing and testing frameworks for the design of technology-enhanced, student-centered learning environments.

Peter Jamieson is an associate professor in the Teaching and Educational Development Institute at the University of Queensland.

Minchi C. Kim is a doctoral student in Instructional Technology at the University of Georgia and a research assistant in Learning and Performance Support Laboratory (http://lpsl.coe.uga.edu). She received her M.Ed. in Instructional Technology from the University of Georgia and her B.A. from Ewha Woman’s University in Seoul, Korea. Her research interests include cognitive development of problem solving skill, scaffolded design of Web-based learning environments, and scientific inquiry in open-ended learning environments.

Scott Schaffer is an assistant professor of educational technology at Purdue University. His research interests are in the areas of performance system design, evaluation and problem solving.

Marilyn A. Sheerer completed a master’s degree at Syracuse University and her Ph.D. in Education (Curriculum & Instruction) at Ohio University. She served as a faculty member at four institutions, a department chair at two and, since 1998, has been the Dean of Education at East Carolina University. She is a Christa McAuliffe Award winner for Excellence in Teacher Education (2002). Her research/publication interests are in the areas of leadership, change in higher education, and teacher professional development.
