“The AERA Annual Meeting is the largest gathering of scholars in the field of education research. It is a showcase for ground-breaking, innovative studies in a diverse array of areas— from early education through higher education, from digital learning to second language literacy. It is where to encounter ideas and data that will shape tomorrow’s education practices and policies, and where to connect with leading thinkers from the United States and around the world.” http://www.aera.net/EventsMeetings/Annual-Meeting/tabid/10208/Default.aspx

“For the second straight year, the conference will be located in Dallas at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel where we will come together to share our ideas and best practices as we learn from one another. With two new program tracks; an increased emphasis on hands-on learning; the addition of Teacher Tank, a high energy “pitch-style” session for our Launch Pad startups; and our dazzling line up of speakers, you are not going to want to miss this event!” http://olc.onlinelearningconsortium.org/conference/2015/et4online/welcome

“The format of the event allows attendees to learn about relevant topics from many different points of view. The moderate size makes it possible for attendees to actively participate. This year’s conference will include not only concurrent sessions, but also poster, panel, and collaborative sessions. This conference is an opportunity to share ideas, learn about distance learning programs and products, and gain a better understanding of the field. It provides participants with a wonderful opportunity to establish new relationships and contacts with others involved in distance learning.” http://www.usdla.org/2015_USDLA_Conference_s/2013.htm

This year’s convention theme is Accelerate Learning: Racing into the Future. Given developments in research, technology, and society, professional practice in the various disciplines that comprise the AECT community continue to change and evolve. To meet the challenges posed by ongoing changes, we need serious and sustained efforts to (a) actively incorporate findings from multiple disciplines; (b) involve key stakeholders at multiple levels to transform education and training; (c) integrate technologies seamlessly into learning, instruction, and performance; (d) dynamically interweave research, practice, and theory development; and (e) demonstrate what works when and why with regard to improving learning, instruction, and performance. http://www.aect.org/Events/Indianapolis/reasons.asp?clientid=
