Revisiting upcycling phenomena: a concept in clothing industry Available to Purchase

Manoj Kumar Paras is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctoral Researcher at the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi, Romania; the University of Borås, Sweden; and the Soochow University, China. His research interest includes closed loop value chain, sustainable supply chain and waste management. He has presented his research in various national/international conferences and published in journals such as International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, The International Review of Retail, Distribution and Consumer Research and International Journal of Value Chain Management and Man-Made Textiles.

Prof. Dr Eng. Antonela Curteza is a Senior Researcher and Project Manager. She graduated the Faculty of Textile and Garment Engineering from The Technical University of Iasi, Romania, and holds a doctorate degree in Functions and Comfort of Clothing. She is a Full Professor at the Knitting and Clothing Engineering Department within the Faculty of Textile – Leather Engineering and Industrial Management and the Director of the Doctoral School of the Faculty. She has initiated and conducted many research and teaching activities that focus mainly on design, clothing comfort and functions, smart and functional textile products and sustainable fashion. Prof Antonela Curteza has been a PhD Supervisor and Scientific Coordinator of 18 PhDs in the field of industrial engineering. She is the author and co-author of 11 books, having garment design, functions and comfort as their main subjects. She has authored more than 170 articles published by international and national journals, and international conference proceedings, from which 39 are ISI certified. She has taken part in 33 national and international research projects; in 18 of them, she held the position of Coordinator or Project/Partner Manager. She is an active member of editorial offices for magazines such as Textile Progress. She is a Reviewer for the following magazines: Textile Research Journal, Journal of Industrial Textiles, AUTEX Research Journal and Industria Textila. She is an independent expert evaluator for the European Commission. Starting with 2009, her main research activities have been focused on the development of textiles products for disabled people and people with special needs, functional textile products and sustainable textiles and fashion. Prof Dr Eng. Antonela Curteza was the Academic Team Leader of the 2BFUNTEX Project MDTs (multidisciplinary teams) on sustainable textiles (www.2bfuntex.eu) and a WP Leader in the ORGANZA Project – INTERREG IVC.
