A new express method was developed for the determination of the optimal parameters of magnetic water treatment during dyeing of textile materials.
During magnetic water treatment, dissolved gases are removed from water. When equal volumes of magnetically treated and untreated water are heated at the same rate, gas microbubbles accumulate and grow differently on the surface of an indicator material, due to the varying kinetics of gas release. By measuring the weight of the indicator at specific time intervals, using torsion balances, in both magnetically treated and untreated water, the kinetics of gas release can be studied, and the efficiency of the magnetic water treatment can be determined.
The efficiency of magnetic water treatment was found to be 34%. Micelle formation in magnetically treated water is enhanced, occurring at 0.8 g/L compared to 0.5 g/L in untreated water. The sorption of an acidic dye in magnetically treated water is 20% higher than in untreated water.
The obtained results demonstrate the potential of the proposed method as a tool for rapid evaluation of the efficiency of magnetic water activation in both scientific research and practical water treatment applications.
