The industrial hemp supply chain has experienced a notable resurgence in recent years, particularly in textile applications. Despite this growth, the industry faces persistent structural and regulatory challenges that hinder its development. This study aims to examine stakeholder perceptions of these challenges across the hemp supply chain.
The study employs a sentiment analysis approach to analyze stakeholder perspectives across the hemp supply chain, with findings interpreted in the context of existing literature.
The results highlight areas of perceived concern, particularly related to textile manufacturing, hemp agriculture and processing. These findings reflect how stakeholders interpret and prioritize challenges across the supply chain. Identifying these perceived challenges contributes to establishing clear research pathways and advancing innovation in the US hemp supply chain.
This study extends the application of sentiment analysis to evaluate stakeholder perspectives on the current state and the interconnected challenges across the hemp value chain. Recognizing these insights is significant for informing future research directions and contributing to advancing hemp’s potential in textile and industrial applications.
