NISC (National Information Services Corporation) through the use of CD‐ROM technology has been able to create a seamless link between four important historical works, bringing them together in the resource project entitled Medieval and Early Modern Data Bank (MEMDB).

The project was established at Rutgers University in collaboration with the Research Libraries Group, Inc. (RLG). Its aim was to provide a research resource for the period which covers the Medieval, starting AD800, to the Early Modern, ending 1815.
