Area Bibliography of Japan

With 15 titles published so far, the Scarecrow Area Bibliographies series is now well established, its format, style and idiosyncrasies familiar. Works on Japan are proliferating, in “overwhelming” quantity. Reason enough to welcome this judiciously selected classified guide to 2,676 “substantial” books (defined as of at least a 100 pages). Most of the books on Japan and on Japanese culture included in this bibliography are published from 1980 to the present. “In addition a number of so‐called classics are included as well”.
